August Leffler was the girlfriend of Tommy Solomon for over a year during the first two seasons.

Personality

She is very headstrong, brainy, and seems to feel insecure over how astute Tommy is at times.

She has a C- in gym, because she can't lift her own body weight, she has the worst sense of direction, and she bites her nails when she gets anxious.

Season 3

August won the Rufitherford County Essay Contest for the second year in a row. However, a couple of weeks later, sometime after Halloween, Tommy found out she was cheating on him with two other guys and they were breaking up.

After their breakup, she is around on a few additional occasion, though this is after she's cut her hair (offscreen.) In these scenes is usually studying with Tommy in the kitchen. In Episode 27, "Eat, Drink, Dick, Mary," she somehow gets roped into Tommy's adventure in being a chef; at the end of which she flirts with him, he responds and they start making out, but when she suggests he lets his food burn, he kicks her out (though it was just to create a funny moment to end the scene and not a storyline-changing kick out.)

Season 4

In Citizen Solomon, she is first seen in the newspaper office when Tommy approaches her to purposefully point out that he is dating Alissa Strudwick. She replies by pointing out that it was she, not Tommy, who ended their relationship. Then she is seen when the entirety of the newspaper staff is gathered together for assignments.

Later August points out to Tommy that Alissa's play, My Fair Lady, is that night, but he sends August in his stead to reveiw the play. She writes an honest reveiw of the production, but offers Tommy a way out of printing it by saying, "You don't have to print that, you know. She is your girlfriend." He decides to run the harsh review in spite of this, in the name of journalistic integery. When Alissa comes in to complain about the reveiw, Alissa uses tears to manipulate Tommy. He then blames the reveiw on August whirling around on her forcing her to once again point out that she broke up with him. In the final roof scene of the episode, it is revealed that August took out a full-page ad in the newspaper of a picture of a donkey with Tommy's face on it.

In the very next episode, Alien Hunter, we see her as a hostage (though she has no lines of dialogue.) She never comes back after this incident.
